Stefan Hamann

Founder. Developer. Author.

Always curious.

Ideas are good.
Building them
is better.

I’m Stefan Hamann. Shopware co-founder, developer and author. I’m interested in what happens when you refuse to let go of a good question. These are the projects, ideas and detours that follow.

What keeps me curious

SoftwareArtificial intelligenceResearchOpen Source

01 / From my workshop

Less “someone should”.
More “here it is”.

A selection of things I build and help shape. From local AI to a PCB milled in the workshop. Some are tools, others are still a beginning.

ATELIER / YOU

One photo, new looks: a self-hosted prototype for AI try-ons and combined outfits in Shopware. Explore visual possibilities; it does not measure size or fit.

Deadeye Arcade

A home for your lightgun game library: discover games, configure devices and browse your arcade. Built out of a love of playing.

Nyx · Local AI

A coding agent for VS Code and Cursor that works with local models. For people who like to keep their code and control of their AI close together.

makera-pcb

From KiCad files to a PCB of your own. Plan toolpaths, inspect 2D and 3D previews and prepare the milling workflow for the Carvera Air.

02 / Shopware · Agentic Commerce Labs

The future of commerce.
Put to the test.

At Shopware’s Agentic Commerce Labs, we work on the questions ahead of the next roadmap: what will merchants, developers and customers need when AI agents shop, advise and take on tasks?

Our answer starts with something concrete: open interfaces, reference implementations and experiments people can inspect, try and question.

Illustration of the Shopware reference implementation for commerce agents01

Reference implementation

One goal. Two agents. A real shop.

A shopping agent finds products and builds the cart. A merchant agent prepares changes with previews and approval. Business rules and checkout stay in Shopware.

Demo: chat requires your own Anthropic API key.

Procurement Swarm: several agents working on a shared purchasing brief02

Experiment · B2B procurement

One purchasing brief. Many negotiations.

Procurement Swarm explores agents gathering offers, negotiating by email and combining their findings. With local Shopware shops, simulated suppliers and an inspectable purchasing plan.

An experiment with simulated suppliers; not a finished Shopware product.

Developer tool · UCP

An interface. A flow you can inspect.

The UCP Scanner & Simulator inspects shop profiles and declared capabilities, and simulates commerce flows in controlled scenarios. For developers connecting shops and agents.

Pawl: checks, results and documented failed attempts04

Open framework · agent work

Good work should be inspectable.

Pawl connects assumptions, checks and results in coding-agent work. Failed attempts stay discoverable, so the next round can build on what we actually know.

04 / Following the next question

What if there’s
another way?

Alongside building are the questions without answers yet. How can intelligence emerge? What structures underlie physical laws? Two research projects I keep coming back to.

Research also means keeping open questions visible. These are ongoing investigations and hypotheses, rather than claims of a completed theory or generally proven AI capability. Explore the TFPT code

05 / The person behind it

I like to think.
I love to build.

I’ve stayed a developer, even after “founder” became part of the story. As Shopware co-founder and Chief Agentic Officer, I explore how technology gives businesses more room to create. I’ve been doing this for over 25 years.

Outside that role, I follow my curiosity. Sometimes it becomes an AI tool. Sometimes an arcade frontend. And sometimes a question that takes an entire research project to explore.

  • Build in the open. Share what you learn.
  • Try ideas before making big claims about them.
  • Prefer a good question to an easy answer.
